Artist Statement

My personal approach to photography is rooted in an earnest desire to understand the world and the people who occupy it.

Who we are and the way in which we relate to the world, is directly linked to how we instinctually relate to our surroundings, and other human beings. To exist in a space, is to adapt to the conditions that exist within that space.

In my experience, urban communities are an intense embodiment of people reacting to conditions, so my photographs most often bear witness to populations that exist in urban America.
